Toulouse, Part I

We travelled to Toulouse for Robert's reunion with his friend Marc. While we were packing for our trip we heard a huge clatter out on the street...our neighbor laying in his winter wood supply. Otherwise the village hummed along in it's usual quiet way.
Time for a quick coffee in Jouques before catching the bus to Aix.
In Aix we picked up some food for our train trip.

The train station in Marseille.
From the Gare St.Charles in Marseille you can see the whole city, with Notre Dame de la Garde in the distance.
Delayed train departure.

Gare Matabiau in Toulouse.

Old friends reunited, Robert and Marc in front of the Capitole.

Here and there, around Rians

Always a surprise to see the miraculously blue sky when we wake up in the morning and throw open the shutters.

The market at Lourmarin.

Grenoble trip

We took to the road last Sunday, travelling north, past Sisteron and through the mountains to Grenoble...a glorious drive. As the mountains grew steeper, so did the roofs...Grenoble has a completely different look from the provencal towns are used to, much more "alpine".

The next day we rendez-voused with Sylvie and Marcel in Chambery and took a drive up the Mont Revard in the Massif des Bauges.

Dejeuner sur l'herbe

With just two days left to Karoline's visit, Sylvie organized a picnic at the foot of the Ste-Victoire. After lunch we drove to the other side of the mountain to visit the Barrage de Bimont with its turquoise lake and steep gorges

Back in Rians and a pizza Chez Georges.

On the road and on the terrace

Blue skies and sun sun sun. We put up the windspinner that Sol gave us and it is like he is with us. Hi Sol! The motorcycle has all its new improvements and all of it worked!! We are riding in great comfort and yesterday afternoon we took a spin over to Ginasservis, the next-door village, just to sit in the little square and have a glace.
